Sony's Upcoming Mirrorless Camera is Easily Pocketable

Sony's best seller NEX-5R is being upgraded to a smaller NEX-5T with added features such as NFC.

Micro Four Thirds based cameras and Sony's popular NEX mirrorless series units are considered as direct competitors since its inception.  The biggest drawback for the Sony's NEX cameras with larger APS-C sensors were its limited selection and size of compatible lenses.

Sony has been quick to address the issue on the lens selection by adding more choices, and now tackling the size issue by reducing the camera size with each update; the camera almost look like a smartphone with a hand grip.

It's amazing to see how this tiny camera has an APS-C Exmor CMOS sensor that delivers 16.1 megapixels. That’s the same size as many DSLRs, including Sony’s new Alpha A3000. To help take those DSLR-quality photos, the LCD screen flips over the top of the camera for selfies and down for overhead photos. The screen has a touch-shutter function, or you can use your smartphone to control the camera.

NEX-5T will be available within a couple of weeks with MSRP set at $550 for body-only and $700 with the SELP1650 power zoom kit lens.
