Panasonic GM1's First Pixel Peep Test Images Now Available
Panasonic GM1 is probably the most surprising Micro Four Thirds camera of the year along with Olympus flagship camera, OM-D E-M1. Not only is it the smallest Micro Four Thirds camera every made, but it also boasts a tremendous pedigree and looks to be a terrific value at about US$750 with its bundled super-compact 12-32mm kit lens.
The GM1 packs 16-megapixel sensor, 16,000 shutter speed, and 1080p video recording found in its big brother, the Panasonic GX7, and boast very similar performance across the board as well. Both cameras also share the same AF capabilities, and Panasonic says the GM1 and GX7 deliver the same still image and video quality.
imaging-resource.com released a set of test images using a full production model with pre-production firmware. So keep in mind that the full-production software update may impact image quality.
Using their Comparometer™, you can also pit sample pictures taken with the GM1 side-by-side against those from the GX7 or any other model they have ever tested.
