Three New MFT Lenses by Olympus Coming Your Way

Olympus 25mm f/1.8

Olympus 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6

Olympus 9mm f/8.0 fisheye

Olympus is on the way to dominate the Micro Four Thirds format camera market if they continue to pump out new cameras and lenses at this rate.

A recent rumors based on leaked images of three new lenses are spreading online even though Olympus has not made any official statement yet.

The first one pictured on the top looks remarkably similar to the stellar 45mm f/1.8 portrait lens which as been regarded as the biggest bang for the buck.  If this lens is in fact pretty much on par with 45mm then it will be a great choice; small, light, relatively inexpensive and produces sharp image.

Olympus' own fast prime lenses are especially great for Olympus camera owners as they work so well together and produces amazingly fast AF performance.

The focal length of 25mm translates to a full-frame equivalent of 50mm, so it will be a perfect walking-around lens.  There is the legendary Panasonic 25mm f/1.4 ASPH Leica lens which has set the benchmark that's hard to be beat, but that lens is much heavier and costs over $500.

The second rumored lens is a pancake zoom with 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6. This is in no doubt kit lens to be sold as a package with a PEN series of camera.  The slim profile will be the selling point for beginners buying into MFT format.

The last one pictured is another 'body-cap' type of lens similar to the one Olympus released last year. This one has a focal length of 8mm with f/8. There isn't much to talk about this one as it is meant to be a fun toy gear.

Some sources point to late January announcement for these lenses which is only a week or so away.  We will update with the latest info as it become available.
