Olympus Updates Its All-Weather Rugged Camera, TG-3

You no longer have to compromise the quality of image with a consumer grade compact all-weather camera.  No extra gear or accessories needed either.  Olympus latest offering TG-3 will be available in June 2014 boasting amazing specs.

It seems TG-3 does not make any compromise and even excels in some areas.  It packs the new 16-megapixel sensor with incredibly fast f/2.0 lens which is the fastest in its class in fact.  As a bonus, you even get built-in Wi-Fi and GPS.

TG-3 uses a 16-megapixel back-illuminated CMOS sensor and the newest TruePic VII image processor.  Its the same processor used in the high-end OM-D Micro Four Thirds interchangeable lens cameras.  Low-light performance is excellent making it one of the best camera for underwater shooting.

The camera can dive with you down to 50 feet which is about 50% more than its smaller sibling, TG-850.
It can also withstand dust, temperatures of 14 degrees Fahrenheit, drops from 7 feet, and weight (crushproof) of 220 pounds.

The TG-3 now supports a LED Light Guide accessory ($40.99), which turns the built-in LED lamp into a macro ring light. As with its predecessor, the TG-3 supports waterproof wide and telephoto conversion lenses.

Using the new Wi-Fi feature, you can upload and share your photos while you travel, and and mark your position with the GPS.  Olympus offers an unique system where you can use your iOS or Android device to scan a QR code, which then automates the pairing process.

The camera features another interesting feature.  It is an enhanced Microscope Control Mode that can adjust the camera’s lens to mimic the controls of an actual microscope.  You can zoom in as close as 44.5x at a distance of 1cm.   That's like having a super macro lens!
