RX100 Mark III is One-of-a-kind Compact Premium Camera

Sony's latest upgrade to its hugely popular RX100 is already in its third generation, "RX100 Mark III".  This marvelous little camera is unique in many ways, but the pop-up EVF must be as original as it gets.

In the previous model, the EVF was an expensive optional add-on. Now, it's built-in like a pop-up flash.  I know some of you must have an EVF for composing that perfect shot especially under bright sunlight outdoors.

Another welcoming news is its brighter lens offering 24-70mm equivalent focal length.  I personally would love that much more than the previous version at 28-100mm.  That wide end being 28mm is just not wide enough in so many ways.

The only drawback is the 1-inch sensor, but you really cannot have everything for this price range (under $800).  Sony RX100 Mark III is the king of compact camera and is priced reasonably for all the features it packs in that tiny body.

Feature Highlight:

  • 20.9 MP 1"-type Exmor R CMOS sensor
  • 24-70mm equivalent F/1.8-2.8 lens
  • Continuous shooting up to 10 FPS
  • Pop-up electronic OLED viewfinder with 1,440,000 dots
  • ISO 160-12800, expandable ISO 100, 125, and 25,600
  • 3.0 inch tiltable TFT LCD with 1,229,000 dots
  • 1080 60p/24p HD video with full exposure control (MPEG-4/AVCHD)
