Beautiful World of Chemistry Captured by Panasonic GH4

Well, it looks like chemistry reactions can be more beautiful than I ever imagined.  It's quite shocking that this super crisp 4K HD video is created using Micro Four Thirds camera, Panasonic GH4.

The project is a collaboration between the Institute of Advanced Technology at the University of Science and Technology of China and Tsinghua University Press. According to their website, the goal of the project is to "bring the beauty of chemistry to the general public through digital media and technology.” With the widespread publicity their project has received, it appears they have met at least some success in this goal. "Beautiful Chemistry" has been featured in Time, The Huffington Post, Business Insider, The Discovery Channel, and others.

The team has revealed some of the technical details on how they created this awesome video using Panasonic GH4.  They choose Micro Four Thirds format because of the the larger depth of field it provided, compared to a full-frame sensor for close distance filming.  The choice of lens was Tokina 100mm f/2.8 macro.
