Olympus SH-2 Pocket Zoom Camera with 5-Axis OIS

Olympus announces Stylus SH-2 packed with high-end features borrowed from its flagship models. The designers went for the retro-look for the pocket zoom camera, but this is the camera from the future.

The Olympus SH-2 may be the new king of travel zoom camera.  It features a RAW capture mode, 5-axis image stabilization, WiFi and the ability to shoot 1080p video at 60 fps. A 16-megapixel BSI CMOS sensor is employed in this model, mated to 24x optical zoom lens (24-600mm wide-angle equivalent)

Olympus claims that the Stylus SH-2 is the only camera in its class with Live Composite technology, which extracts the brightest areas from a sequence of interval shots and combines them into one perfectly exposed image. Additionally, customized Nightscape Modes can help you create beautiful portraits and videos in low light situations.

The video capture performance is also top notch with a support for 1080/60p, and you can go all the way up to 240 fps at 432x324.  One thing that is missing here is 4k support.

The 3-inch LCD have a resolution of 480 x 320. It is a touchscreen, but it's disappointing that Olympus chose antiquated resistive technology instead of the capacitive type touch screen.  Other than that, this compact camera is all-around performer for those wanting to have great memories captured in beautiful photos.
