Panasonic GX8 Coming with 20.3MP CMOS Censor

Panasonic is about to take its upcoming GX line of camera to the next level by bumping up the resolution by a huge margin from the current 16MP found in GX7.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX7 will be the first Micro Four Thirds format camera to feature this level of resolution.

Having a higher megapixel count doesn't necessarily translate to higher quality image capture.  In fact, it's the quite opposite when it comes to smaller sized censors.  We will have to wait and see if the GX8 can produce better output than current flagship models such as OM-D E-M1 or GH4.

Inside the new flagship camera by Panasonic, you will find Dual I.S. image stablization system which if first of its kind for the company.  It is designed to work together with the lens image stablization.  The company is surely taking a different approach from it main rival, Olympus.

The 20.3MP CMOS sensor will be powered by a quad-core Venus Engine that's capable of ISO 25600 and snap images up to 8 times per second.

On the video side, it can handle up to 4k resolution at 30/24p.  This is one of the strongest selling point of Panasonic models compared to Olympus which still lacks 4k video capture.
