Samyang Announces Two New Lenes for MFT Format
The popularity of mirrorless system cameras are growing steadily as the demand for full size DSLR is declining. It is especially evident for Micro Four Thirds format as you have seen a growing number of large lense manufacturers are joining and developing more lenses for MFT format.
MFT camera owners already enjoy many dozens of excellent lens choice - more than any other compact interchangeable camera format.
Rokinon recently announced details of two new lenses - the 21mm f/1.4 and 50mm f/1.2.
The 50mm f/1.2 has a full frame focal length equivalent to approximately 85mm on most APS-C cameras. On Micro Four Thirds mount it has a focal length of approximately 100mm which makes it the ideal lens for portraits, especially with its ultra fast aperture of f/1.2 . The lens has a simple optical formula of 9 glass elements in 7 groups and has 9 aperture blades for smooth out of focus area (“bokeh”). This lens will also benefit users shooting video on their cameras (especially Panasonic and Sony E mount) as this is an ideal focal length for recording interviews.
The Samyang 21mm f/1.4 is a wide-angle lens that provides an approximate focal length of 30mm on most APS-C cameras and a 42mm focal length on Micro Four Thirds systems. A fast, wide angle prime lens with fast aperture is very popular with shooters. It is good to see Samyang provide another competitive option.
Both lenses are available today at a discounted price:
Rokinon RK50M-MFT 50mm F1.2 AS UMC High Speed Lens for Olympus & Panasonic (Black)
Rokinon RK21M-MFT 21mm F1.4 ED AS UMC High Speed Wide Angle Lens for Olympus & Panasonic (Black)
